■ Febrile agglutinins are antibodies that cause RBCs to
agglutinate (clump together) at high temperatures.
■ Febrile agglutinin titers are used in the diagnosis of some
bacterial infections (salmonellosis, tularemia, Rocky
Mountain spotted fever, typhus, brucellosis).
